Here's my new project. Its called a Windsor. I first thought it was some old british rig but after a little Sheldon Brown research I guess they were made in Mexico in the 70s and 80s. They have nice chromed lugs and I read that some were painted to look like Cinelli frames. I found this beauty along with an old univega frame leaning up against someones garage. They looked like they were headed for the trash so I went up and knocked on the front door. A dog started barking and I heard an old man yelling at the dog. After about 2 minutes of this the door cracked open and an old withered man gruffly said "Whatdya want?" I told him I was wondering if he was getting rid of the bikes by the garage. He said "Take em' and take those wheels too". So I walked away with two frames that were my size and some wheels. My plan is to repaint it black and make a sweet fixed gear bike with some cross tires so I can scorch around Portland on-road and off. I will post more photos when its finished.
Hello, hello,

I have been lazy about updating my blog lately but here are some new images. I am creating 2 styles of ear flaps that can be added to custom cap orders for the cold winter months. First image is a knit merino wool cap with a stretchy head band that basically fits snug around the ears and back of head and flips up when not in use. The second style is like an old hunters cap with long earflaps with drawstrings that tie underneath or over head when the earflaps are not needed. I can add these earflaps to 3 panel or 8 panel caps. My price is $45.00 for this style.
I am selling my caps in Portland at River City Cycles, City Bikes, and YES clothing boutique. R.E. Load Messenger Bags in Philly is also selling some (www.reloadbags.com). Look up the others online if you need directions. You can also contact me for customs. Other than the caps I sell through stores, I don't have a big stock of pre-made ones sitting around. So, I make them to order. This is easy for me and easy for customers looking for something unique. Contact me at dellershaun@yahoo.com
In other news, its mushroom season here in Oregon. I went out with my girlfriend and some friends twice last weekend to hunt for mushrooms. Here is a photo of me with some chantrelles we picked. We cooked them up with a wonderful pasta with white wine sauce.
You literally have to hunt for these little guys because they often are hiding under the duff on the forest floor. Once you find one you start seeing more peeking up everywhere. I like to take my shoes off and silently stalk through the trees and ferns feeling the cool earth between my toes. Yes, I am a nature boy.
My idea for this blog is that I want to start posting photos and stories about not only my hats but also other things of interest to me. So you can expect to see other randomness posted here. Anything from bike hats to mushrooms to artwork.
